Sanju Samson in place of Rishabh Pant in T20 World Cup 2022

There is now less than a month left for the T20 World Cup 2022 to be played in Australia, for which the Indian team was also announced on 12 September. While the names of many players to be included in this 15-member Indian team were already decided, the names of some were being seen in doubt whether they would get a place in the team or not. But the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has also announced the team for the T20 World Cup 2022 along with the home T20 series against Australia.

Sanju Samson

Shortly before the team was selected for the T20 World Cup 2022, it was expected that 27-year-old wicket-keeper batsman Sanju Samson would be included in the team. But he was not given a chance once again and was also not included in the team for the series against both Australia and South Africa.

The selectors of the Indian cricket team have kept their faith in Rishabh Pant along with veteran Dinesh Karthik as the wicketkeeper. Due to this, some former players have questioned the inclusion of Sanju Samson in the team. In which former Pakistani team player Danish Kaneria said in one of his statements that Sanju Samson should be given a chance in place of Rishabh Pant.

Talking on his YouTube channel, Danish Kaneria said that it is very unfortunate for players like Sanju Samson. He must have been selected for the T20 World team. After all, what wrong did he do that he was not selected in the team. Apart from this, he was also not selected in the team for the series against Australia and South Africa. Had I been there, I would have preferred Sanju Samson over Rishabh Pant.

Rishabh Pant had a disappointing performance in the Asia Cup

In the Asia Cup 2022, the Indian team was knocked out of the Super-4, in which some players faced fierce criticism for their poor performance, including wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant. Whose bat did not show any special performance and that is why there was a lot of doubt about his place in the team for the T20 World Cup 2022.
